North Kansas City Hospital’s Home Health Services rank among the best nationwide after being named to the 2006 HomeCare Elite list, placing the Hospital’s program in the top 25 percent of providers nationwide.
The first-time list was compiled by OCS, Inc., a health care information company, and DecisionHealth™, a medical publisher. The two entities reviewed Medicare-certified home care agencies to determine those with outstanding performance measures in quality, improvement and financial performance.
OCS Senior Director of Market Strategy Bill Bassett says being noted as one of the top performers in the country in a very competitive environment shows that North Kansas City Hospital is dedicated to quality and performance.
Mary Ann Mohesky, the Hospital’s Home Health manager, says this is well deserved by the department’s 65 employees. "The award is certainly a goal for which we are striving," says Mohesky. "It recognizes the amazing work of our clinicians and those who support that work. Patients get superb care from our staff."
North Kansas City Hospital’s Home Health program started in 1994. The service began with three employees and 15,000 patient visits in 1994. Now, staff members provide approximately 44,000 annual visits. |
