One-on-one fitness training without long-term membership fees is an advantage of classes available through North Kansas City Hospital’s Community Education Program. " We tailor exercise plans for each person’s age, fitness level and lifestyle goals at a reasonable cost," says Jessica McClure, who coordinates the classes. All classes meet in Health Services Pavilion on the Hospital campus, I-35 and Armour 210.

Circuit Training focuses on reaching fitness goals through cardio and resistance equipment. A physician’s release is required for the program, which meets from 8 to 9 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost is $28 for eight visits.
A class called, Women on Weights, introduces women to the benefits of adding lean, fat-burning muscle with free weights and resistance equipment. Attendees meet for eight sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The fee is $28 for eight visits.
Fitness After 55 helps seniors improve flexibility and cardiovascular fitness with individual exercise plans. A physician’s release is required. Sessions meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at a cost of $28 for eight visits.
Anyone can benefit from Shallow Water classes available for all body types. Participants achieve a workout using stretch-n-tone, low impact and high intensity water exercise. The cost is $65 for a six-week session that meets mornings or evenings, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning in August.
