North Kansas City Hospital Sponsors Chip In For Charity Open for Local Charities

North Kansas City Hospital and the Medical Staff of North Kansas City Hospital will host the 15th annual Chip In For Charity Open on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. Since the first Chip In For Charity Open in 1993, North Kansas City Hospital has donated over $1.3 million to Northland charities, thanks to the generous support of players and sponsors. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be distributed to Clay County Clothes Closet, Hillcrest Transitional Housing and Immacolata Manor.

Your support is important in helping the benefiting organizations continue their services. Since 1959, the Clay County Clothes Closet has provided needy children and adults with clothing, mostly new items. With referrals from schools and local agencies, the Clothes Closet gave more than 55,000 items last year to 1,600 clients. The nonprofit organization is run only by volunteers and is supported by grants, churches, schools and individuals.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing has guided homeless families to self-sufficiency since 1976. A hand up, not a hand out, Hillcrest provides families a furnished apartment, intensive counseling and all their basic needs for 90 days. Hillcrest bases its 95 percent success rate on the old proverb of “teaching a man to fish."

For 25 years, Immacolata Manor has been a quiet point of pride in Liberty, serving women with developmental disabilities. The Manor provides residential and day programs that focus on independence, community involvement, human rights and basic needs so the Ladies of Immacolata can achieve their highest potential and live with dignity and respect.

The Chip In For Charity Open format is a four-person scramble with five flites and a 72-team field. Entry fees are $200 per player or $800 per four-person team. Singles will be matched with teams by draw. The registration cost covers the green fee, a golf cart, an incredible tee pack, course beverages and a catered barbecue lunch. The deadline for player registration is August 10.

The Chip In For Charity Open also features fantastic prizes. Gift certificates totaling $8,000 will be awarded to 100 participants. Winners of the various contests also will receive prizes.

Businesses and individuals can participate through a variety of sponsorship levels including cart sponsors, hole sponsors, and bronze, silver, gold, and platinum sponsors.

Anyone interested in playing in the tournament should call (816) 691-2050 and interested sponsors should call (816) 691-5237 or (816) 691-1691.
