North Kansas City Hospital Cancer Program Ranked With the Best

North Kansas City Hospital’s Cancer Program received another three-year approval with commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (CoC), the highest rating available from the organization.

Approval by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. An on-site review is required every three years to maintain approval. North Kansas City Hospital received its first approval in 2003.

"This recognition is given to only one in four hospitals that treat cancer patients," says Kelly Rhodes-Stark, MD, a radiation oncologist involved with the Hospital’s recent review. "Our physicians and staff strive for excellence in cancer care. It should be reassuring for patients our facility ranks among the best for cancer treatment."

The cancer care team at North Kansas City Hospital provides patients with the latest treatment options and unique programs while still remembering the compassion and kindness so essential to a successful fight against cancer.
