North Kansas City Hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit features 24 private patient rooms, a common dining room and compassionate clinical staff to provide you with a home-like atmosphere.

A team, consisting of a physiatrist, therapist, social worker, dietitian, pharmacist and nurse, along with the patient and family establish goals to assist in returning patients to prior functional independence.

Prior to admission each patient receives a free assessment to determine their eligibility. The screen evaluates a person’s prior and current levels of function, medical assessment and pre-authorization of insurance with approval through the unit Medical Director and Program Director. Patients may be admitted from any location. A three-day pre-hospital stay is not required.
